Apple TV Isn't Working, Won't Turn on, or Shows a Black Screen
Your Apple TV's performance can be affected by its HDMI connection and power supply. Make sure your HDMI, HDMI switch or AV receiver setup, and your power supply is securely connected.
Check your HDMI setup
- Disconnect both ends of your HDMI cable, then firmly plug them back in.
- Try swapping with another HDMI cable.
- Make sure that you select the HDMI input that matches the HDMI port connected to the Apple TV.

- Try a different HDMI port on your TV, starting with HDMI 1 or Input 1.
Check your power supply and power cable
- Unplug the Apple TV power cord from the power outlet, wait 30 seconds, then plug it back in (also known as Power Cycle).
- Plug the power cord into a different power outlet or power strip.
- If possible, plug the Apple TV into another screen to test device.
